The South Korean star will be in Cannes this year as the co-star in Hirokazu Kore-edaŌĆÖs Palme dŌĆÖOr contender Broker and July JungŌĆÖs feminist police thriller The Next Sohee, which will be the closing film of Cannes CriticsŌĆÖ Week. The Next So Hee revolves around a high school student named So Hee who starts training for a subcontracted position at a call center. As a mysterious incident puts her in danger, detective Oh Yoo Jin starts to investigate what has happened. The film marks the reunion of A Girl At My Door director ĀJuly Jung and Bae Doo Na in eight years since they have last worked in 2014. The Cannes films committee has praised the female director for her growth since her directorial debut with A Girl At My Door and for producing a ŌĆ£very intense filmŌĆØ through her work The Next Sohee.
